174pp., 4to, 123 mostly colour plates. 2025. This second volume in the series brings together the superb aquatints produced by Lt-Col Robert Batty of the 1st Foot Guards, the images of the countryside & people by Reverend William Bradford who served as Chaplain to the army during the Corunna Campaign & those of George Cumberland (Junior) who served as an Assistant Paymaster general. The artists were therefore all eyewitnesses to the scenes they depicted. With some additional material from Alexandre de Laborde and William Grenville Eliot, this handsome volume once again makes available these beautiful visual depictions to compliment any study of the Peninsular War.
