This is the beginning of a series of volumes intended to untangle the story of French infantry flags of the period of the Seven Years War and of the Revolution and early Napoleonic Wars. Stephen has studied all of the available texts to list the complicated story of the evolution of regiments and of course their flags. The result is what we consider to be the masterwork on the subject and will be followed by further volumes.
