The typical three-color NATO camouflage began to be used in the 1980s and is still widely used today. It became standard not only for the Bundeswehr and the U.S. Army, the scheme was also used for the military vehicles of many NATO members, such as France, the Netherlands and Turkey, among others. The camouflage consists of a three-color scheme of olive green, black, and brown and is one of the most long-standing camouflage patterns used by the largest number of countries and different vehicles. Some of the vehicles using this camouflage are the Leopard 2, M1 Abrams, M60 Patton, Leclerc, AMX-10, AMX-10P, VBL, PzH 2000, Marder 1, Puma, Boxer MRAV, Luchs, Fennek, Wiesel 1 y 2, Dingo, VCC-80 Dardo, YPR-765, the MOWAG Piranha series, LVTP7/AAVP7A1, M2/3 Bradley, M113, M117, M109 and M270, among many others.
