The battlefield behavior of these German soldiers was highly variable. Sometimes, as in the Battle of Pavia (1525), they performed exceptionally well, figthing to death on both sides of the conflict, even after their allies fled the field: this happened to the French when they employed the Landsknechts. The Imperial Landsknechts were instrumental in the Emperor’s victory. Can you imagine it?

Il comportamento sul campo di battaglia di questi soldati tedeschi è stato molto variabile. A volte, come nella battaglia di Pavia (1525), si comportarono eccezionalmente bene, combattendo fino alla morte sui due fronti, anche dopo che i loro alleati fuggirono dal campo di battaglia: questo accadde ai francesi quando impiegarono i Lanzichenecchi.
